남이 시키는 대로만 하는 사람과 일단 무시부터 하는 사람은 결코 남을 앞설 수 없다.
인생의 반대편에 서서 자신을 주의깊게 바라보는 사람은 남이 자신을 보는 것처럼 바라볼 수 있을 것이다.
인간은 자신만의 생각을 펼쳐가며 자신의 목소리를 낼 때 비로소 자유로워진다.
업무를 정확히 끝내려면 즉시 일에 착수하라. 지름길이나 손쉬운 방법을 찾으려고 하는 것은 게으른 사람들이나 하는 짓이다.
행동으로 표현되지 않은 지식은 아무 힘이 없다.
목표에 집중하지 않으면서 목표만 가지고 일을 성취하려는 것은 불가능합니다.

    하루를 되돌아 보며

    상황에 지배 당하지 말고 상황을 만들어 가라.
    무엇을 해야 하는지 분명한 기준을 가지고 숙지하고 있으라. 그러면 상황에 휩쓸리지 않고 상황을 만들어 나갈 수 있다.
    의도하는 바를 상대방이 정확히 알 수 있도록 전달하는 것은 대단히 장점이 된다.

      • 잠재적인 장애물을 제거하라
      • 장애물에 맞서지 못하는 이유를 설명하라
      • 두려움에 대한 위험과 보상을 표로 만들라

      • 우선순위 계획하기
      • 지속적인 집중
      • 개인적인 책임감

      모든 것이 잘될대는 긍정적일 수 있다. 하지만 상황이 좋지 않을 때 긍정적이 되는 것은 쉽지 않다. 내가 이책에서 전달하려는 목표는 삶에 대해 조금 더 긍정적인 시각을 갖게 하려는 것이 아니다.

      열정의 세가지 요소 : 비전, 희망, 성취감

      의사소통기술은 성공의 기본 요소이다.

      중요한 전달사항이 있거나, 설득할 때에는 대화를 시작하거나 중요한 점을 지적하기 전에 그들의 가치 체계를 이해하는 것이 무엇보다 중요하다.

      당신이 전하고 싶은 문제가 중요할 수록 더 많은 준비를 해야 한다는 것이다.

      1. The key elements of effective acceptance are:

      • A clear understanding of the List of Deliverables to be accepted(Requirements Traceability Matrix)

      • UA Testers not providing sufficient detail/accuracy when reporting TPRs
      • UAT resources were committed but are found to be unavailable
      • UA Testers not adequately trained in testing/system functionality
      • Client requests changes and want;s them included in the release!
      • UA Testers find a Bug in a Sub-Contractors Deliverable, Teh Sub-Contractor claims that Oracle accepted the deliverable earlier during SIT
      • UA Testers raising NEW TPRs upon regression test, not raised previously
      • UA Testers overly slow performing test

      Incident Analysis Breakdown

      • Finger Trouble - User testing understanding issue (10%)
      • Duplicate - Same fault reported more than once (5%)
      • Change Control Request - CCR masquerading as a Fault Report(5%)
      • System Maintenance Issue - Security, Permissions, Access (20%)
      • Data Related Problems - Test Cases have incorrect data (25%)

      • PC Client Configuration fault (2%)
      • Interface - Teh fault is on the non Oracle side of an interface in the SI (10%)
      • BUG this is definitely our problem (20%) 

      Change Control

      4. Common Occurrences related to Change Contorl
      • Customer keeps requesting & rejecting CC whilst refusing to pay for analysis
      • Customer views payment for CC as " not in the spirit" of the project
      • Sales wants to give CC free
      • Customer believes the request/change is within Scope, ie not CC
      • customer requests a CC that moves a milestone payment out
      • Customer wants to reduce already agreed scope and believes reduced cost should be passed on to customer as other fuctions or reduction in price
      • Customer does not believe the estimate is a accurate(already too high)
      • Change is required on a Sub-contractors deliverable, the customer says it is within scope & will not pay and the Sun-Contractor say it is not within scope, OCS is in the middle.
      • Acceptance Blackmail(ie No free Change Control then No Acceptance)
      5. Rules for Managing Change Control
      • Stay calm : if discussion becomes too heated on a given topic, move from the topic.
      • Get all of the issues on the table  and deal with them one by one but think holistically
      • Allo Positions to be clarified : Allow the customer and OCS fuctional Analysts to give the technical case as to whether an item is in or out of scope.
      • Deal Holisticall : When you have heard both sides, do not agree items one by one but rather wait until all items have been heard by both side.
      6. How to make a "Reasoned Case"
      • Constrct your argument in four level
        • Contractual High Ground(Check it you have it)
        • Moral High Ground(Do you have it)
        • Mutual Culpability(Is the guilt balanced)
        • Vible Threat(BANOC-Best Alternative to a Negotiated Outcome)
      • Use the "Range" Argument to enumerate positions
      • Use DEDUCTIVE and INDUCTIVE Agrumrns where appicable
      • Allow the Opponent(Customer) to speak and complete their point
      • Avoid burning bridges(relationship must not be lost)
      • Deal one on one where possible(avoids group dynamics)
      • Make it clear that it is not personal, we are both trying to do the right thing by our employers
      • Never-Exaggerate or strect the truth
      • Argue PRINCIPLE not DETAIL

      It presents an ideal opportunity for:
      • Introducing yourself as the team's leader
      • Team members to meet one another
      • Presenting the vision for the project
      • Gaining acceptance/buy-in to the vision
      • clarifying jthe projects's objectives

      Oracle's Global Methods team has designed a series of self-service, self-paced training courses in support of the Oracle® Unified Method (OUM). Each training course can be taken online through Oracle University or downloaded and taken off-line.


      The OUM Accreditation Program helps to ensure that individuals in consulting sales, delivery, and management roles have the level of delivery and estimating knowledge required for them to competently perform their job. The Accreditation Levels include:
